Daria Ludtke

Daria Ludtke has a diverse work experience in the field of remote sensing and GIS. Daria started their career in 2015 as a GIS Research Assistant at Queen's University Belfast, where they conducted research on land use change and gained skills in project management, database management, and data analysis.

In 2018, Daria joined the UNOOSA United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs as a Remote Sensing/GIS Analyst. Here, they processed remote sensing and GIS data, supported project management and coordination with international stakeholders, and identified priority areas of action for capacity building.

Later in 2018, they worked as a Spatial Data Research Fellow at the General Directorate for Territorial Development in Portugal. In this role, they focused on research and innovation with machine learning for national land cover land use products and developed a machine learning product using optical multi-sensor data.

Daria's most recent role is at Wegaw, where they have held multiple positions. Daria started as a Remote Sensing Lead in 2019, managing and coordinating the implementation and improvement of EO subsystems. In 2020, they became the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for product and innovation strategy, operations, and delivery across multiple locations. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operations Officer, overseeing the company's operations and driving sustainable growth.

Daria Ludtke completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Geographic Science at The University of Bonn from 2011 to 2015. During their undergraduate studies, they also attended Queen's University Belfast from 2013 to 2014 for a Bachelor of Science degree in the same field.

In 2016, Daria pursued their Master of Science degree in Geospatial Technologies at NOVA IMS Information Management School, which they completed in 2018. Daria further expanded their knowledge in the same area by attending the University of Münster for a Master of Science degree in Geospatial Technologies for a year in 2017.

In addition to their academic achievements, Daria obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed the "Information Security Awareness - Foundational" course at UNDSS and the "Radar Remote Sensing for Land, Water, & Disaster Applications" course at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. In 2019, they acquired the "Earth Observation - Big data for climate change" certification from Climate-KIC and the "Echoes in Space - MOOC on Radar Remote Sensing" certification from EO College (University of Jena). Daria also received the "SAR for Disasters and Hydrological Applications" certification from NASA in the same year.

Continuing their professional development, Daria attained the "Scrum Fundamentals Certified" certification from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in 2020, along with the "Successful Negotiation: Essential Strategies and Skills" certification from the University of Michigan. Daria further enhanced their skills by completing the "NASA Earth Observations for Energy Management" course provided by NASA in 2021. Additionally, they obtained the "Information Security Awareness - Advanced" certification from UNDSS in 2018 and the "Marketing for Small Business (2015)" certification from LinkedIn in 2020.
