Alberto Montañola Lacort has a wealth of experience in the technology industry. Alberto began their career in 2005 as a Collaboration Fellowship at the IT department (ASIC) of the University of Lleida, where they were responsible for maintenance of the hardware and software at the campus computer laboratory. In 2008, they began working as a Researcher and Software Engineer at the Distributed Computing Group at the University of Lleida, where they developed a P2P distributed computing platform. Alberto also began teaching at Ilerna/Indra, where they taught a 60 hour Java intensive course for the students of technical engineering in computers. In the same year, they began their role as an Associate Professor at the University of Lleida, where they taught practical teachings of Microsoft Office Suite for students of Biotechnology and Architecture, as well as practical C and C++ teachings for Biotechnology students and practical Assembler 8086 teachings for the students of the technical engineering in computers. In 2010, they began their PhD at the Distributed Computing Group at the University of Lleida, where they worked on the parallelization of the multiple sequence alignment problem of genomic sequences. In 2013, they began working as a Lead Senior Software Engineer and Researcher at ICG, where they worked on the development of several back-end projects and was responsible for the deployment and maintenance of the different applications on the company servers. In 2016, they began working at GetFinancing™ as a Principal Software Engineer and later as Chief Technology Officer, where they lead the engineering department and worked on a project towards the redesign and migration to the cloud of an important legacy part of the platform. In 2020, they began working as the Chief Technology Officer at WeGetFinancing, as well as the Chief Technology Officer and Founder of Montanola.eu, where they provide consulting services to help companies migrate their legacy infrastructures to the cloud, design well-architected complex systems within the cloud, and assemble the perfect technical team.
Alberto Montañola Lacort has a long education history. From 2002 to 2007, they studied Computer Engineering at the Universitat de Lleida and obtained an Ingeniero en Informática de Sistemas degree. Alberto then studied Computer Software Engineering at the same university from 2006 to 2009 and obtained a Master en Ingeniería de Programario Libre. From 2008 to 2011, they obtained an Ingeniero Informático degree at the Universitat de Lleida. In 2018 and 2019, they attended the UPC School (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and obtained an Executive Master in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, Alberto Montañola Lacort has obtained three certifications: Developer – Associate Certification Preparation for AWS from Cloud Academy, Inc. in February 2018; Fundamentals of AWS from Cloud Academy, Inc. in December 2016; and AWS Certified Developer - Associate from Amazon Web Services in March 2018.
