Marcus Paiva has over 17 years of professional experience. Marcus started their career in 2003 as a Cost and Finance Intern at Wella, a global haircare company, where they assisted in controlling production costs and pricing products. In 2004, they became a Marketing Intern at Allied Domecq, a global wine and spirits company, where they helped to increase sales of premium brands and supported the planning and monitoring of marketing activities. In 2005, they became a Marketing Intern at Oi/Telemar, the largest telecommunications company in Brazil, where they helped to develop convergence projects among telephones, mobiles and internet. In 2006, they were a Category Leader and Business Development at B2W, the largest e-commerce company in Latin America, where they were responsible for the Health & Beauty section and developed a sales plan, negotiated costs and volumes with suppliers, and achieved a 300% sales increase. In 2010, they became a Key Account Manager at Philips Consumer Lifestyle, where they managed two of the major retail accounts and achieved a sell-in over €40M in 2010. In 2012, they were a Global MBA Intern at Samsung Electronics Headquarters, where they spearheaded a market study to revamp the strategy of the Hospitality solution's and designed a new sales proposal document. From 2013 to 2021, they held various positions at Rocket Internet and Clickbus, including CEO Mexico, Global Business Development Director, Founder & CEO Asia, and Managing Director Brazil. Most recently, they are a Co-founder of Welbe Care, a company that helps businesses care for their employees through an integrated health ecosystem.
Marcus Paiva obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro between 2001 and 2006. Marcus then went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Esade between 2011 and 2013. In 2021, they obtained a Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC) from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in July, and an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December.
