Rebecca Sugden

Rebecca Sugden is the Senior Strategic Partnerships Adviser at Wellcome Trust. Rebecca has previous experience working as the Private Secretary to the Chair and Drug Resistant Infections Policy support at Wellcome Trust and as the Deputy Head of Office & Senior Private Secretary to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) – Department of Health and Social Care. In their current role, they are responsible for leading private sector partnerships across a broad range of Wellcome’s activities. This includes developing and delivering strategies for building relationships with key partners, negotiating agreements, and maximising the potential for collaborations that further Wellcome’s mission. In their previous roles, they were responsible for providing oversight on all ‘live’ issues under their broad portfolio, actively progressing work under CMO’s priorities, writing and editing media lines/papers/reports, and preparing CMO for media bids. Rebecca has extensive experience of engaging with Ministerial and DG Private Offices, policy officials, PHE, MHRA and senior international stakeholders.
