Bruce Kennedy

Director, Marketing & Business Development at Wellflix

Bruce brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, branding and corporate development to Wellflix along with a passion for healthcare quality improvement and patient safety. Prior to joining the company, Bruce directed global marketing and communications for Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), an organization dedicated to improving surgical quality and patient outcomes worldwide. While at SRC, Bruce was instrumental in developing the Bariatric Excellence Education Series (BEES) to assist bariatric surgical departments in improving patient outcomes and increasing surgical quality.

In early 2002, Bruce joined Duke as a marketing strategy consultant and was later recruited as the director of Marketing for Duke Hospital. In 2006, Bruce was promoted to assistant vice president to oversee health system wide Marketing and Creative Services. Bruce served as an Assistant Vice President at Duke University Health System, where he led marketing operations, strategy, implementation and creative development. While at Duke, Bruce led a major re-branding of the health system and developed the marketing segment curriculum designed to educate future faculty leaders in healthcare operations.

Prior to Duke, Bruce launched MarketMouth Communications, a full-service marketing and communications firm with a range of healthcare, pharmaceutical and entertainment industry clientele – after a number of years in the traditional and Internet advertising space.

Bruce received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Syracuse University and master’s degree in psychology from City University of New York, and remains active in healthcare marketing and business development through corporations such as Everyday Health, American Heart Association, Radio One, and Pivot Point Media.
