Chris Sperring

Chris Sperring is an experienced manager with a strong commitment to sustainability and youth development. Currently serving as the Destination Poneke Manager at WellingtonNZ since May 2022, Chris is focused on achieving a zero-carbon capital by 2050. Chris has been the General Manager at YHA New Zealand since April 2000, leading a dedicated team in shaping a sustainable future for the organization. Additionally, Chris holds advocacy roles with the Backpacker Youth and Adventure Tourism Association, advocating for the youth and backpacking sector. Chris has extensive experience in football coaching, serving in various leadership capacities with organizations such as Wellington Phoenix Football Club and Waterside Karori AFC, dedicated to developing young athletes and providing pathways to success in sports.
