Hany Takla has a strong background in surgery and medical leadership. Hany is currently serving as the Medical Director of Surgical Services and Chair of the Department of Surgery at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Hany also works as a General and Bariatric Surgeon at the same hospital. Prior to their current position, Hany was the Medical Director of Robotic Surgery at Winchester Hospital and a General and Bariatric Surgeon there as well. Hany has also held roles as a Clinical Instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine, a General and Bariatric Surgeon at Middlesex Surgical Associates, a Fellow at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and a General Surgery resident at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and University of Washington. Hany began their surgical career as a Surgery Resident at Cairo University.
Hany Takla earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from Cairo University, where they studied from 1997 to 2003. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in General Surgery from Cairo University from 2005 to 2008.
