Carl-Luis Rieger has a strong background in venture capital and investment management. Carl-Luis is currently serving as the Managing Director at WEPA Ventures, a family venture capital firm that specializes in investing in European early-stage start-ups. In this role, they have been involved in various investments, including Revent I, Planet A Ventures, Vireo Ventures, Sunhat, Datazeit, and One.

Prior to joining WEPA Ventures, Rieger co-founded VEECEE, an initiative that brings together individuals in the venture capital sector in Berlin, Amsterdam, and London. The goal of this project is to actively contribute to the startup ecosystem and foster connections between entrepreneurs, founders, and investors.

Rieger also worked as a Corporate Venture Capital Professional at Hyundai CRADLE, where they played a key role in overseeing European direct and indirect investments and portfolio management. Carl-Luis participated in investments and served as a board member for companies such as Amadeus Capital Partners V, Earlybird VI, GRZ, Hydrogenious, HiiRoC, H2 Mobility, Appyway, and Urban AirPort.

Additionally, Rieger worked as a Venture Capital Investment Manager at Kompass Digital, a seed-stage venture capital firm focused on transformative commerce models in the insurance, banking, and healthcare industries. Carl-Luis was involved in investments in Tiny Fund II, German Autolabs, Hombell, Reparando, Deutsche FinTech Solutions, Cavalry Ventures II, Restube, MisterSpex, and Craft Beer Leipzig.

With their extensive experience in venture capital and broad range of investments, Rieger has demonstrated a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem and a knack for identifying promising opportunities.

Carl-Luis Rieger has an extensive education history. In 2010, they started their undergraduate studies at The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business/Economics and Political Science. As part of their undergraduate studies, they also spent a year (2012-2013) at Ewha Womans University and a year (2011-2012) at Chongqing University, both from which they received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business/Economics and Political Science.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Carl-Luis Rieger continued their education at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. From 2014 to 2016, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Management. Concurrently, they also attended Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, from 2014 to 2015, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Management.

In 2017, Carl-Luis Rieger further expanded their education by attending the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Carl-Luis participated in the Venture Capital Executive Education Program, enhancing their knowledge and skills in this field.
