AJ Johnson is a seasoned mental health professional with extensive experience in trauma-informed, person-centered care, currently serving as a Senior Mental Health Clinician (Acting) at Wesley Mission Queensland since October 2019. AJ's role involves holistic assessments and one-on-one counseling using evidence-based interventions, as well as facilitating LGBTQIAP+ support programs. Prior to this, AJ held various positions, including Family Counselor at Youth Services of Tulsa, Professional Basketball Player across several organizations, and Assistant Women Basketball Coach at Santa Rosa Junior College, demonstrating a diverse skill set that includes coaching, counseling, and mental health support. AJ holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology and a Master's degree in Couple & Family Therapy from the University of Oregon.
