Derek Barr

Derek Barr has extensive work experience in various roles within the field of business applications and technology. Derek started their career at ABC Communications in 2003 as a Sales and Service Manager and worked there until 2007. In the same year, they founded their own company called DBITS and served as the Sole Proprietor until 2018. From 2007 to 2013, Derek worked at West Fraser as a Technical Analyst before transitioning to the role of Information Systems Coordinator, QRP. Derek then became a Senior Business Analyst - Pulp from 2014 to 2019, and subsequently held the position of Maintenance Technology Manager until 2022. Currently, Derek is the Director of Business Applications at West Fraser.

Derek Barr attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree with a major in Technology Management. Derek also obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2017.
