Ian Taylor has an extensive background in communications and marketing, primarily within the sports industry. Ian began their career as a Sports Reporter at the Herts & Essex Newspaper Group in 2002. In 2005, they joined QPR FC as a Press Officer before moving up to the role of Press Manager in 2008 and eventually becoming the Head of Media & Communications in 2010. Taylor then worked as the Head of Communications for Team INEOS from 2018 to 2020, where they managed the team's internal and external communication output. Ian also served as the Event & Communications Director for #Game4Grenfell in 2017, organizing a charity football match and executing the PR and communications strategy surrounding the event. From 2020 to 2022, Taylor worked as a Freelance Sports Communications Consultant for Taylored Sports Communications. Ian then took on the role of Marketing & Communications Director at the London Irish Rugby Club from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Taylor is the Head of Communications at West Ham United FC, where they manage the media department and provides strategic media consultancy to the board, manager, and playing staff.
Ian Taylor attended the University of Winchester from 1999 to 2002. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Studies with Media Studies.
