Alaric Smith

Alaric Smith serves as a District Councillor and Executive Member for Finance at West Oxfordshire District Council since May 2022. Previously, Alaric held several prominent financial roles, including Chief Financial Officer at PerfectHome from December 2006 to April 2021 and Finance Director at PerfectHome Holdings Ltd until July 2018. Alaric also served as Chairman for Create UK Ltd & Create Liverpool Ltd from 1998 to 2012 and Finance Director at Brighthouse from 1997 to 2006. Additional roles include Head of Audit & Security and Head of Accounting at Thorn EMI UK Rentals from 1993 to 1997 and Head of Audit at Kellock Ltd from 1990 to 1993. Alaric began a career in finance at Grant Thornton UK LLP as an Assistant Manager from 1985 to 1990, where training as a Chartered Accountant took place. Alaric holds an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from University College, University of Oxford, and a Chartered Accountant qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
