As the Head of Westbourne’s purpose-built Geoffrey Ryan Centre, Barry’s belief in the importance of a separate learning environment for Year 9 is at the core of his professional work. Strongly committed to prioritising the development of agency, optimism and self-efficacy in students’ learning dispositions, Barry is motivated by his concept of the interconnectivity of various facets of students’ learning situations - something that is an integral to the success of the Year 9 experience.
