Sherri Young

Sherri Young, DO, MBA, FAAFP, DHL, currently serves as the Cabinet Secretary for the West Virginia Department of Health, a position held since January 2024. With a robust background in healthcare leadership, Sherri has also functioned as an Associate Chief Medical Officer at CAMC and held the role of Executive Director/Health Officer at the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department. Active in medical associations, Sherri served on the Slate of Trustees for the West Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association and as a council member for the Kanawha County Medical Association. Sherri has contributed to the West Virginia Medical Journal as an associate editor and has authored books since 2019. Educationally, Sherri holds a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and an Executive MBA from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
