Dominic Muzzi Jr.

Director at Western Growers

The Muzzi Family has been involved in the Central California vegetable industry for over 60 years. Dominic grew up on a Brussels Sprout ranch in Moss Landing and began working at the age of six. He graduated from Watsonville High School in 1982 and attended Hartnell College in Salinas. In his late teens and early twenties, he ran growing, harvest and production crews.

In 1984 his family started Watsonville Produce to cool, sell and ship the vegetables grown on their farm and in 1993 started processing and packing Cello Spinach and Spring Mix. In 2007 the Muzzis became managing partners in Blue Ribbon Frozen Foods in Watsonville, CA.

Their processing facilities had been co-packing for other Grower-Shippers for twenty years and in 2012 Muzzi Family Farms was started to market the Fresh and Frozen vegetables that were being processed in their facilities. The company operates Fresh processing facilities in Moss Landing, CA & Yuma, AZ as well as a Frozen Food facility in Watsonville, CA. Muzzi Family Farms markets its Conventional and Organic products throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Dominic served on the Grower-Shipper Association of Central California Board from 2002-2004, and was elected to the Western Growers Board in 2019.
