Jake Bates

Jake Bates has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Their most recent position was as the Director of Sales for Fortified Life at Western Home Communities since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked as the Community Manager at Parker Place Retirement Community from June 2016 to November 2020, where they managed a 36 apartment assisted living and memory care retirement community and developed strategies to provide a personalized experience for residents and their families. Before that, Jake served as the Assistant Director of Marketing at Friendship Village Retirement Community from January 2013 to November 2015, where they were responsible for marketing and admissions to the independent living residence. Jake also has experience as a Direct Support Professional at Exceptional Persons, Inc. (EPI) from May 2010 to August 2014, where they supported individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illness to enhance their independence. Jake also worked as a Direct Support Staff at Comprehensive Systems from August 2007 to August 2010 and as a Bartender and Security Guard at Barmuda Companies from July 2007 to August 2008.

Jake Bates began their education at Waterloo West High School, where they graduated in the year 2007. After high school, they attended Hawkeye Community College from 2007 to 2010. During this time, they pursued a general studies program but did not obtain a degree. Following their time at Hawkeye Community College, Jake enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa and completed a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies from 2011 to 2013. Jake then furthered their education at the same university, earning another Bachelor's Degree in Long Term Care Administration/Management from 2015 to 2016. In September 2016, Jake obtained the certification of Certified Assisted Living Manager from the state of Iowa.
