Elio Duarte

Elio Duarte has a strong background in finance and accounting spanning over 18 years. Elio began their career at Citi as an Accounting Assistant before moving on to A.P. Moller - Maersk, where they held various roles such as Regional Financial Controller and Global SAP New GL Implementation Project Lead. At A.P. Moller - Maersk, Elio was responsible for overseeing financial processes, implementing new systems, and improving reporting timelines. Elio then joined Sealand - A Maersk Company as Head of Accounting & Reporting, and later took on roles such as Head of Business Finance, Operations, and Network, and Head of Ocean Finance. In these positions, Elio provided financial insights, monitored business performance, and facilitated strategic decision-making processes. Most recently, they have been serving as the Vice President of Finance at WAI Global. With their expertise in financial management and business strategy, Elio has made significant contributions to optimize business performance and drive bottom line improvements throughout their career.

Elio Duarte has attended Harvard Business School in 2021, where they completed the High Potential Leadership Program. During their time at Harvard, they focused on Executive Leadership. Prior to this, Elio Duarte also studied Finance and Accounting at the Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador.
