Neil McKay

Neil McKay is an experienced communications and online engagement professional currently serving as the Online Experience Coordinator for the Whatcom County Library System, where responsibilities include managing websites and social media across ten libraries. In addition, Neil is a Publicity Committee Member for WHATCOM READS, promoting a county-wide reading initiative, and serves on the Board of Evergreen Supported Living, supporting adults with developmental disabilities. As a volunteer fundraiser for Fred Hutch, Neil has successfully raised over $10,000 through the Base2Space stair climb event. Previous positions include Communications Specialist/Webmaster for Ferndale School District, where storytelling through various media was a key focus. Neil's background also includes leadership roles in fundraising for the American Cancer Society and engaging community involvement through roller derby events. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Strategic Communications and a Bachelor’s in Humanities from Washington State University, along with an Associate of Arts in Journalism.
