Nate Hunzaker

Nate Hunzaker has over a decade of experience in software engineering and development. Nate began their career in 2008 as a Graphic Designer for Student Media at Western Carolina University. In 2009, they took on the role of Layout Designer for The Western Carolinian. In 2011, they joined Smashing Boxes as a Front-end Developer, where they collaborated with designers and developers to build dynamic web applications and integrated BackboneJS with RESTful APIs powered by Node. In 2012, they moved to Viget as a Senior Developer, where they established standards for architectural patterns, testing, and best practices for JavaScript development, engaged in technical planning and management of key client-side application projects, and built mobile applications using React Native, Kotlin, and Swift. In 2019, they joined Whimsical as a Principal Software Engineer and Lead Software Engineer.

Nate Hunzaker attended Western Carolina University from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a dual degree in Marketing and Computer Information Systems.
