Rachel Falconer is an accomplished Head of Digital Arts Computing at Goldsmiths, University of London, where responsibilities include lecturing and overseeing Goldsmiths Digital Studios, an interdisciplinary studio focused on rapid prototyping and innovation for the creative industries. Rachel serves as a PhD researcher at Whitechapel Gallery and as a Blockchain Council Member at the British Interactive Media Association. As a Fellow of the RSA and Trustee at Call and Response, Rachel contributes to various strategic initiatives. Additionally, Rachel operates as a Trend & Innovation Consultant for Stylus Innovation + Advisory, and has extensive experience as a freelance innovation development consultant and journalist. Previous roles include Head of Art and Technology at SPACE Studios, and Curator & Commissioning Editor at Furtherfield.org, showcasing a robust background in creative industries, education, and arts technology. Rachel holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s from the Royal College of Art and a Bachelor’s from UCL, along with additional qualifications in architecture and product design.
