Martha Hoelzer has been in the professional world since 2006. Martha began their career as a Merck FTS Helpdesk Team Lead at Ajilon Consulting. In 2010, they became an Alumni Relations Associate at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and an Advisory Board Member and Manager of Membership and Event Management at Triangle Technology Executives Council. In 2014, they were promoted to Manager of Advancement Services and Assistant Director of Student & Alumni Engagement, Advancement at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. In 2016, they started their own photography business, A Breath of Fresh Air Photography by Martha Hoelzer, and also became Assistant Director of Development at UNC Global. In 2018, they founded What Lies Beneath Concussion and in 2019, they became Director of Marketing and Business Development at WhiteHat Partners, LLC, as well as a Board Member at Brain Injury Association of North Carolina.
Martha Hoelzer began their education at Randolph School, followed by Huntsville High from 1992 to 1996. Martha then attended The University of Alabama from 1996 to 1998, where they studied American Studies & German. Following this, Martha attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1998 to 2000, where they earned an AB in American Studies & German. In 2012 and 2013, Martha attended UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and earned a Global Communications Certificate. Finally, Martha returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2014 to 2021, where they earned a Graduate Certificate in Digital Communication in Communication and Media Studies.
