Christian Maitre

Christian Maitre is an experienced radio newscaster, correspondent, and reporter currently employed at WICB 91.7 FM since September 2019. At WICB, Christian writes and broadcasts newscasts, hosts the show Ithaca Now, and has developed expertise in conducting interviews, editing radio pieces, and using Adobe Audition. As the New Production Director, Christian oversees the editing of the Weekly Ithaca Now news show, coordinates with various staff members, and provides training through editing workshops. Previous experience includes an internship at Status Coup News, where Christian managed social media and produced content, as well as a news radio internship at WRFI 88.1 FM, co-hosting on-air shows and writing news scripts. Christian has also contributed to Buzzsaw Magazine as a News and Views editor and completed internships in video production and installation assistance. Maitre holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Ithaca College, obtained in 2022, and a high school diploma from Needham High School, awarded in 2018.
