Roberto Portillo Lara

Roberto Portillo Lara is an experienced research professional currently serving as Research Development Manager and Research Associate at Imperial College London since August 2020. Additionally, Roberto has been a BSF Fellow at Wilbe | Home for Scientist Leaders since October 2022. Prior to these roles, Roberto worked as a Publication and Training Consultant at Enago (Crimson Interactive) from February 2020 to December 2022, and as a Research Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey from January 2018 to December 2019, where responsibilities included teaching biotechnology courses, student coaching, and project management. Roberto co-led the development of a biomaterial for myocardial infarction treatment during tenure at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital from December 2016 to December 2017, and managed international research teams at Northeastern University, resulting in several significant publications. Roberto holds a Ph.D. in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla.
