Alec Kochis

Alec Kochis has a diverse work experience, beginning with their current role as a Mechanical Engineer at Wildcat Discovery Technologies since 2020. Previously, they were a Lead Wilderness Instructor at the University of California San Diego from 2014 to 2020, where they managed teams of 2-8 guides to lead groups of 9-50+ participants on outdoor trips. Alec also held roles as an Expedition Logistics Coordinator, Secondary Guide, and Assistant Guide. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Mechanical Engineer at Additive Rocket Corporation, where they oversaw day-to-day operations, created new initiatives, and managed IP development teams. In 2016, they were a Product Development Intern at Quidel and a Research Assistant at Scripps Institution of Oceanography from 2015 to 2016, where they deployed and monitored instrumentation platforms in coastal waters.

Alec Kochis obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego in 2019. In June 2021, they obtained a Wilderness First Responder certification from Wilderness Medical Associates International.
