Javier Salas

Javier Salas is a conservation professional with extensive experience in biodiversity research and community monitoring. Currently working at Wildlife Works LATAM since January 2023, Javier has held multiple roles, including Profesional de conservación and Profesional de apoyo en biodiversidad. Prior experience includes serving as a researcher at Wildlife Works Carbon, where Javier focused on community biodiversity monitoring through camera trapping, and as a junior researcher at the Instituto de Investigación de Recursos Biológicos Alexander von Humboldt, conducting sampling and specimen preparation. Javier has also contributed to biodiversity inventories and ecological assessments at The Field Museum and Universidad Nacional de Colombia, earning a degree in biology from the same institution.
