Principal Biodiversity Scientist at Wildlife Works

Laura Martínez-Íñigo is a Principal Biodiversity Scientist at Wildlife Works since May 2023, focusing on biodiversity research, monitoring, and conservation in REDD+ projects across multiple continents. Previously, Laura served as a Scientific Advisor for the Wild Chimpanzee Foundation, contributing to the establishment of the Moyen-Bafing National Park in Guinea. Experience includes roles as an Assistant Professor (postdoc) at Muzeum i Instytut Zoologii, a Scientific Writer at Massive Science Inc., and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Howard University, where Laura conducted field studies on chimpanzee behavior. Additional positions include work as a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology and a Ph.D. student at the University of Lincoln, specializing in primatology. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology (Primatology) from the University of Lincoln, a Master’s in Biodiversity from Universitat de Barcelona, and a degree in Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
