Laura Doherty

Laura Doherty (Ward), CPA, CGA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Laura is currently employed as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at William Osler Health System, starting in December 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Finance Consultant at Joseph Brant Hospital & Foundation from March 2022 to December 2022. From August 2019 to September 2021, Laura held the position of VP Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer at Brant Community Healthcare System. Laura also served as the Interim VP Corporate Services & CFO from April 2019 to August 2019, and as the Director of Finance from January 2018 to April 2019. Furthermore, Laura worked as the Manager of Finance from November 2014 to January 2018, as a Finance and Operations Advisor from April 2013 to November 2014, and as a Decision Support Program Coordinator from December 2010 to April 2013 at the same organization. Laura began their career at ArcelorMittal Dofasco as a Cost Accountant from 2004 to 2007, and later served as a Financial Analyst from 2007 to 2009.

Laura Doherty (Ward), CPA, CGA obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Business/Managerial Economics from the University of Guelph in the years 1998-2002. Laura then pursued an accounting and finance qualification and obtained the Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation from the Certified General Accountants of Ontario in the years 2004-2008. Additionally, they have obtained the additional certification of Certified General Accountant in 2008.
