Alex Kourline has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. In 2000, they started as a Co-op Student, gaining valuable industry exposure. From 2003 to 2008, they worked as a Senior Consultant Engineer at FM Global, where they identified hazards at insured locations, quantified risk, reviewed construction plans, and conducted loss investigations. In 2008, they joined Suncor and held various roles, including Risk Coordinator, Master Data Coordinator, Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, and Project Manager. During their tenure, they successfully managed multiple projects with varying budgets and complexity. Notably, they achieved cost-efficient execution, commissioned pipelines on time, and received recognition for operational excellence. Alex Kourline has a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Metals and Materials Engineering, which was obtained from The University of British Columbia from 1998 to 2003. In terms of additional education, Alex obtained a Project Management Certificate from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 2009 to 2011.
