Drew Haygood

Drew Haygood has had a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Drew started their career as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens in 2003, where they handled tasks such as prescription intake, filling, and insurance billing. In 2012, they attended Cape Fear Community College as a student. In 2015, they worked at Verizon Wireless as a Tech Support representative, providing technical assistance to customers.

In 2016, Drew joined Wilmington Health PLLC as an IT Support Specialist. Drew handled incoming support issues, managed end user computing equipment, and assisted with antivirus deployments and configurations. Drew also played a role in opening new sites, creating custom Sharepoint solutions, and providing support during and after hours.

Drew progressively moved up in their career at Wilmington Health PLLC. As an IT Support Supervisor, they oversaw 24 locations with 200 providers and 1000 employees, managing a team of IT Support Specialists and Systems Administrators. Drew also implemented a computer refresh project, replacing 1300 computers on a rotating schedule.

In their role as an Information Technology Infrastructure Supervisor, Drew managed a team of four IT professionals and implemented disaster recovery protocols at a remote data center, improving recovery time. As the Information Technology Manager, they led the IT department's strategic planning, budgeting, and day-to-day operations oversight. Drew managed a team of IT professionals and implemented a complete overhaul of network and computer security solutions.

Throughout their various roles, Drew demonstrated strong leadership skills, employee development, and a focus on innovation and operational excellence.

Drew Haygood obtained an Associate's Degree in Computer Engineering Technology/Technician from Cape Fear Community College from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, Drew has obtained several certifications, including IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from AXELOS Global Best Practice in February 2023, Network+ from CompTIA in January 2015, A+ from CompTIA in December 2014, and Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board in November 2006.
