Shannen Janisse

Shannen Janisse is a seasoned Health Promotion Specialist with extensive experience at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit since 2008, currently focusing on the Healthy Schools Team. Responsibilities include developing department policies, leading workgroups on school health promotion, and crafting funding accountability reports. Shannen has contributed to COVID-19 policy development and has played a significant role in the Oral Health Team by creating evidence-based interventions and reviews. Previous roles involved injury prevention and workplace wellness initiatives, as well as coordinating the Smoke-Free Ontario Strategy while managing a substantial program budget at the City of Hamilton Public Health Services. Academic qualifications include a Master's of Science in Community Health and Epidemiology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from the University of Waterloo.
