Jeff Frederick

Jeff Frederick serves as the Provost at Wingate University and also holds the rank of Professor of History. Frederick came to Wingate in 2020 after serving as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Chair of the Department of History, Faculty Athletic Representative, and Professor of History at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. As Provost, Frederick coordinates the academic enterprises of the university including the colleges, schools, programs, and student affairs functions. He speaks frequently across the South on a variety of topics related to southern history and his work has appeared in a variety of traditional, electronic, and media platforms.
