Omar Seddik

Combustion Systems Development Engineer at WinGD

Omar Seddik has a background in engineering and research, specializing in combustion systems and fluid dynamics. Omar is currently working as a Combustion Systems Development Engineer at WinGD - Winterthur Gas & Diesel. Prior to this, they worked as a Scientific Researcher and Doctoral Student at ETH Zurich, where they focused on dual fuel combustion modeling and understanding the physics of DF combustion. Omar also worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant during their time at ETH Zurich. Before that, Omar gained experience in engine performance analysis and optimization as a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Technical Analyst at Optumatics. Omar was involved in various projects, including the development of a new engine model and solving power loss issues in customer engines. Earlier in their career, Omar completed a Master's thesis at Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd., where they investigated cold corrosion of engine liners and optimized lubricant oil consumption to reduce cost and environmental impact. Overall, Omar Seddik has a strong background in research and engineering, with a focus on combustion systems and fluid dynamics.

Omar Seddik pursued their education in a chronological order, starting with their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The American University in Cairo. Omar completed this degree from 2007 to 2012. Afterward, they continued their education at ETH Zürich and obtained their Master's degree in Energy Science and Technology between 2014 and 2017. Omar then furthered their studies at ETH Zürich and completed their Doctor of Science degree in Computational Reactive Fluid Dynamics from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Solidworks Professional - Advanced Surfacing from Dassault Systèmes in November 2011.
