Joyjit Deb Roy is Winrock’s Executive Vice President of Global Programs and Development, overseeing all program groups and aligning their objectives with current resources and new business goals. Working closely with the associate vice president of global programs, Deb Roy oversees all program units — Agriculture, Resilience and Water; Civil Society and Education; Clean Energy, Forestry and Natural Resources, and Ecosystem Services; and U.S. Programs, as well as Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) and Gender. Deb Roy also oversees the New Business Services team and helps ensure that business development is done in accordance with the organization’s mission, goals, and programmatic priorities. Before joining Winrock, Deb Roy was a managing director at ACDI/VOCA, where he supported global projects focused on agribusiness, enterprise development, climate change, food security, and other initiatives. He has implemented projects for a variety of government clients, multi-lateral development banks, foundations, and private sector partners including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), United States Department of Labor (USDOL), and the World Bank. A native of India, he has worked in more than 38 countries across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He earned a master’s in public administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, with a specialization in international economics and public finance, and completed a master’s in history from Delhi University in India.
