Kathy Hall

Kathy Hall is the Chief Financial Officer at Winstead PC. Kathy has over ten years of experience in finance and accounting, including Controller at Thompson & Knight LLP from January 2008 to December 2017.

At Thompson & Knight, Kathy was the team leader for general ledger and system setups for an Elite Enterprise 3.6 to 3E conversion. This involved redefining general ledger segments, renumbering general ledger accounts, and migrating from non-billable matter masking to charging directly to the general ledger by office, department, and timekeeper. This enabled single-source reporting for Practice Group Leaders and Firm leadership.

Kathy also orchestrated and executed the implementation of Chrome River, and led the redesign for the 3E integration. Kathy authored routing and compliance rules for the Chrome River expense and invoice applications, and served as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for configurations, rules, and functionality.

In addition, Kathy contributed to a payroll system conversion from Ceridian to UltiPro, partnering with Human Resources to support general ledger integration and reconciliation and required treasury management services.

Kathy was recognized for developing the firm’s globally consolidated monthly financial statements including the allocation of retained earnings and paid in capital by partner.

Finally, Kathy delivered process improvements in Accounts Payable that include employee reimbursement via payroll, distributed rush check printers, and the processing of sales and use taxes.

Kathy Hall received their Masters in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi. Kathy also received their Bachelors in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi. Kathy has a High School Diploma in General Studies from Oxford High School. Kathy is certified from AICPA in COSO Internal Control Certificate Program and from VBOA - Virginia Board of Accountancy in CPA.
