James Gavrilis

James Gavrilis serves as Vice Chairman and President and CEO of High Point Aerotechnologies since May 2022, while also holding the position of Senior Operations Manager at WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc. since 2018. Gavrilis has been the Group Director at The Gavrilis Group, LLC since April 2009 and served as Senior Advisor at both The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory from June 2013 to May 2022 and the Center for Naval Analyses from 2009 to 2016. Previous roles include Chief of Staff at DRS Technologies from 2009 to 2012 and Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Special Forces, finishing a distinguished military career in July 2009. Additionally, Gavrilis gained experience as a Political-Military Planner for the Iraq Division of the Joint Chiefs of Staff between 2005 and 2008. Academically, Gavrilis holds a Master’s degree in International Studies from Old Dominion University, a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Penn State University, and completed a resident graduate program at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College focusing on Unconventional Warfare, Counterinsurgency, Counterterrorism, Strategy, and Policy.
