Zuheir Barsoum

Zuheir Barsoum's work experience spans across multiple roles and companies. Zuheir is currently a Full Professor at Kungliga Tekniska högskolan since May 2019. Prior to that, they held the positions of Associate Professor from 2012 to 2019 and Assistant Professor from 2010 to 2012 at the same institution. In 2017, they co-founded Winteria, an R&D start-up focused on developing monitoring systems for quality control and assurance in the welding industry. Barsoum also has their own consulting company, Barsoum Engineering Consulting AB, where they work as a Technical Consultant specializing in FE simulations, fatigue and fracture investigations of technical structures, and serves as an expert advisor in welding technology and engineering failure analysis. Additionally, they were an Affiliated Professor of Steel Structures at Chalmers tekniska högskola from 2017 to 2020 and a Visiting Professor at Khalifa University from 2014 to 2016. Zuheir started their career as a Research Associate at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2008.

Zuheir Barsoum completed their education at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Zuheir earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating in the year 2003. Later, they pursued further studies and obtained a PhD in Lightweight Structures, completing it in the year 2008. Zuheir'seducational journey culminated with the achievement of a Docent degree in Lightweight Structures, which they attained prior to the year 2012.
