Rijk Muis has held a variety of roles in the finance and accounting industry since 2004. In 2004, they were an Accountant - Relationship Manager at Amstellanden Accountants & Tax Advisors. In 2006, they were a Compliance Accountant (consultant) at General Electric, a Financial Controller (freelance consultant) at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., and a Senior Financial Controller (consultant) at Van der Moolen. In 2009, they were a COO / CFO at Ingensoma Trading Group Ltd and a FC&MI Analyst (freelance consultant) at Royal Bank of Scotland. In 2011, they were a Finance Director and COO Algorithmic Trading at IND-X Advisors Limited. From 2012 to 2017, they were the CFO at SB Limited. Since 2017, they have been a Chief Operating Officer and Senior Financial Controller. Risk Management & Compliance at Fenix One, and since 2021 they have been the COO - Asia at Wintermute.

Rijk Muis obtained their Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) between 2008 and 2010. Rijk also completed a Certified Public Accountant program at Markus Verbeek Praehep between 2003 and 2006. From 1990 to 1995, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht).
