Russell J. Bauer currently serves as a Radiological Emergency Preparedness Planner for Wisconsin Emergency Management, a position held since June 2023. With extensive experience in emergency management, Russell previously worked as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Dunn County, Wisconsin, and as the Emergency Management Director for Chippewa County for nearly three decades. Russell's background also includes a retired rank of Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve and a deployment in Iraq with the U.S. Navy. Additionally, Russell has been an Instructor, Mentor, and Facilitator at Lake Wissota Yacht Club since 2000, and has a long-standing involvement with the Chippewa Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America, where Russell holds the title of Eagle Scout. Russell's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics with a focus on Remote Sensing from Michigan Technological University, complemented by studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
