Luca Campana began their career in 1994 as a Freelancer, developing various Client/Server software in C++ and VB, as well as designing and implementing fibre optic high reliability local networks. In 2000, they joined Ericsson IT Solutions & Services SpA as a Software Engineer, where they analyzed and developed a high availability DB structure on Unix and Oracle 8.0i to manage 200000+ daily transactions with an error rate below the 0.01%. In 2001, they joined Enel as a Team Lead, where they analyzed and developed a PDA communication system with the digital counters via an infrared interface, as well as an OTP Algorithm (One Time Password) to ensure the safety of the network data communication. In 2003, they joined Tecnic as the Chief Information Officer, managing a team supporting the on-going delivery of projects for over US$4.5b and leading architecture design strategies. In 2013, they founded Robotrade, developing an FX advanced black box high frequency algorithmic trading system in Java and Maven on a Linux Docker Infrastructure, as well as a control and report system for the trading platform. In 2016, they joined Bell Capital Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer, providing Corporate Finance services to clients. In 2017, they founded Robolab, an investment platform for AI-powered financial robots. In 2018, they joined Wisy, Inc. as an Engineering Manager, solving a $1 trillion problem in the consumer packaged goods industry by reducing stockouts and waste with artificial intelligence and data analytics. In 2020, they joined Google as an Engineering Manager, where they were in charge of research and development for a new object detection model in collaboration with Google Brain experts, and improved the precision (COCO mAP) of the object detection model by 30%.
Luca Campana has a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from Udacity and a Master's degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. In addition, they have obtained a Nanodegree and Specializations in Artificial Intelligence from Udacity in June 2018, as well as a Golden Award Scandium 2016 from Codility in April 2016.
