Eric Briscoe

Eric Briscoe has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Eric is currently working as an Engineering Lead at Joy since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Preset as a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend from May 2022 to February 2023. Before Preset, Eric was a Principal Software Engineer - Frontend at Envestnet, Inc from November 2021 to May 2022.

Eric had a long tenure at Research Innovations Incorporated, where they held multiple roles. Eric started as a Principal Software Engineer from May 2017 and later became a Senior Principal Software Engineer - Frontend Architect from an unknown date to November 2021.

Before their tenure at Research Innovations Incorporated, Eric worked at Shonborn Becker Systems Inc as a Lead Engineer & Technical Product Manager. Eric played a pivotal role in consolidating redundant frontend geospatial web applications for the U.S. Army, resulting in significant cost savings. Eric also contributed to various technical innovations and successful open-source releases of JavaScript, Java, and Android components.

During their career, Eric has also contributed as an Editor & Tech Lead for the Common Map API (CMAPI) and has collaborated with external collaborators in developing the open-source CMAPI specification.

Eric's early career includes roles at the United States Army, where they served as a Civil Affairs Specialist, including involvement in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Eric also worked as a Web Developer at L3Harris Technologies.

Eric Briscoe completed their education at various institutions over the years. From 2013 to 2017, they attended Western Governors University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Bachelor of Science, Information Technology - Software Emphasis. Prior to that, they studied at Monterey Peninsula College from 2002 to 2003, where they obtained an AA degree in Graphic Design. In 2001 and 2002, Eric attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center to pursue the Korean Basic Language Course. In 1999 to 2001, they enrolled in The Art Institutes, focusing on Multimedia and Web Design.

Eric also obtained additional certifications to enhance their skills. In 2016, they acquired the CompTIA Network+ certification. In 2015, they obtained the Java SE 7 Programmer I certification from Oracle and the Security+ and CompTIA Project+ certifications from CompTIA. In 2014, Eric received the Web Design Specialist certification from Certification Partners (CIW) and the JavaScript Specialist certification. In addition, they acquired the CompTIA A+ certification in 2014 and the Web Foundations Associate certification from Certification Partners (CIW) in 2013.
