Walter H. Ettinger

Walter H. Ettinger, MD, MBA, is an experienced physician executive consultant currently with Witt/Kieffer since June 2018. Previously, Walter served as the Chief Medical Officer for the University of Maryland Medical System, overseeing a 13-hospital health system. Prior roles include Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at R1 RCM, President of UMass Memorial Medical Center, and Vice President for Medical Affairs at Lenox Hill Hospital. Walter has significant leadership experience at Virtua Health and held numerous academic positions at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins Medicine. Walter earned an MD from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Ohio Wesleyan University.
