Dillon Deveney

Principal Narrative Game Designer at Wizards of the Coast

Dillon Deveney has extensive experience in game design and narrative development. Dillon is currently employed as a Senior Narrative Game Designer at Wizards of the Coast since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Lead Game Designer from December 2019 to July 2022. In this role, they led a design team, reviewed game pitches, provided VR design consultation, and managed relationships between internal and external teams. Dillon also developed production techniques to enhance VR/AR game design standards.

Before joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Dillon worked as a Game Designer at Booz Allen Hamilton from March 2019 to December 2019. Dillon was responsible for designing interactive features, developing wireframes, writing documentation for Department of Defense training modules, and marketing responsibilities.

From 2018 to 2019, Dillon worked at Sucker Punch Productions as a QA Tester (Narrative). In this role, they assisted the Narrative Team with script editing, data entry, and provided feedback on story drafts. Dillon also performed content tests and reported bugs for quality assurance.

In their early career, Dillon worked at Microsoft as a Test Lead and Test Associate from November 2017 to March 2018, and as a Test Associate from August 2016 to November 2017. Dillon'sresponsibilities included bug tracking, regression testing, completing daily test cases, and reporting game crashes for AAA titles.

Dillon also held positions at Continuum Studio as a Game Designer from February 2015 to August 2016, at CelleC Games as a Lead Game Designer from December 2014 to June 2016, and at GameStop as a Senior Game Advisor from August 2015 to May 2016.

Dillon Deveney began their education in 2011 at Full Sail University, where they pursued a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing for Entertainment. Dillon completed this program in 2014. Following their undergraduate education, Dillon enrolled at Full Sail University again in 2014, this time to pursue a Master's degree in Game Design. Dillon completed their Master's degree in 2015, thus concluding their formal education.
