Laurel Pratt has a diverse range of work experience in the gaming industry. Laurel began their career as a Teaching Assistant at DigiPen Institute of Technology in 2018, where they provided support to students. In 2019, Laurel interned at Epic Games as a Hero Design Intern for Fortnite Save the World, contributing to the development of new playable heroes and weapons, as well as assisting with questlines and character dialogue. Following this, Laurel worked at Arcadia Games, Inc. as an Associate Designer from 2020 to 2022. Here, they contributed to various projects, including demo work, prototyping, and design documentation, with a focus on free-to-play models for mobile, tablet, PC, and console games. In 2022, Laurel joined Genpop Interactive as an Associate Game Designer, where they collaborated with a remote team on an unannounced competitive team shooter game. Laurel conducted research and documented new design systems, while also working closely with the narrative team to develop characters and lore. Laurel's most recent role is as a Worldbuilding Game Designer at Wizards of the Coast, starting in 2023, where they are involved in the creation of immersive gaming experiences. Throughout their career, Laurel has demonstrated a strong passion for game design and has consistently contributed to the development and storytelling aspects of games.
Laurel Pratt attended the DigiPen Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2020 where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Game Design.
