Steven P. Kakish began their work experience in 1990 at Kowalski Companies as a Quality Control Manager, a role they held until 1995. Steven P. then moved on to Midwest Sausage Company where they served as the Quality Control Manager from 1995 to 1996, before being promoted to Plant and Quality Manager from 1996 to 1998. In 1998, Kakish joined Wolverine Packing Co. as the Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety, a position they currently hold.
Steven P. Kakish completed their Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Food Science at Jordan University of Science and Technology from 1986 to 1990. Steven P. then pursued a Master's degree in Nutrition and Food Science at Wayne State University, studying from 1991 to 1993. In terms of additional certifications, Steven obtained a PCQI Certification from the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) in August 2022. Steven P. also obtained the Certified Practitioner SQF 9 certification from Registrar Corp Online Food Safety Training in February 2021, and the Certified Practitioner SQF 8 certification in October 2020. While their BRC Certification, HACCP Certification, and MIOSHA Certification do not have specific months or years of achievement mentioned, they received the HACCP Certification from Michigan State University and the MIOSHA Certification from the State of Michigan.
