Des Trundle

Des Trundle has a diverse and extensive work experience. Des began their career as a Graduate Trainee and Technician at Standard Life, where they gained experience in various roles within the IT department. Des then specialized in Midrange systems and became a Senior Technician/Infrastructure Architect, responsible for managing critical incidents, developing team members, and implementing business projects. Des also served as a Delivery Manager and Infrastructure Designer, where they led the enlargement of the Linux support team and designed a strategic DBaaS platform. Des then joined ECS as a Principal Consultant, contributing to the company's rapid growth by delivering a range of IT services. Currently, Des holds the position of VP of IT Architecture at Wood Mackenzie.

Des Trundle earned a BSc (HONS) degree in Computational Science from the University of St Andrews between 1989 and 1993. From 1996 to 1998, Des studied Computers for Commerce and Industry at The Open University, receiving a PgDIP. Additionally, Des is certified as a Google Cloud Certified Professional - Data Engineer, Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate. The Google certifications were obtained in April 2018 and December 2017, respectively, while the AWS certification was obtained in June 2017.
