Michael Lomax has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Michael started their career at SunTrust in 2006 as a Group Vice President, serving as an Area Manager. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a Managing Director in Private Wealth Management in Nashville. In 2012, they became an Executive Vice President and Regional Line of Business Manager for Central Virginia at SunTrust, responsible for client acquisition, retention, and growth in Loan/Deposit Portfolio. From 2012 to 2013, they served as the Executive Vice President and Division Executive for Private Wealth Management in Virginia, overseeing multiple wealth teams and managing assets worth over $5 billion. From 2013 to 2016, they held the position of Executive Vice President and Division Executive for Branch Banking in Virginia, responsible for 147 branches and $6 billion in deposits. In 2016, they joined Woodforest National Bank as the Executive Vice President and East Coast Division Head of Banking Operations, overseeing a consumer bank network with over 1000 teammates and 218 branches in 6 states.
Michael Lomax completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Morehouse College. Michael then pursued further education at Emory University, where they obtained a Master's of Divinity degree from the Candler School of Theology. Subsequently, Lomax attended Emory University's Goizueta Business School, earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Strategy and Management Consulting. In addition to these degrees, they also received an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Belmont University's Jack C. Massey College of Business. Lomax also participated in the Scarlett Leadership Program, although it is unclear if they obtained a degree from this program.
