Paul Whelan

Paul Whelan is a seasoned software manager with extensive experience in developing and managing software solutions for various industries, including space and environmental science. Currently serving as a Software Manager at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since August 2021, Whelan has previously held consulting roles at Space Hazards Applications, LLC, and AER, where significant contributions included the design of satellite hazard analysis tools and space radiation models for the U.S. Air Force. With a solid foundation in software engineering, highlighted by positions such as Senior Software Engineer at Advanced Metrology Systems and HPL Technologies, Whelan has demonstrated proficiency in a variety of programming languages and technologies. Whelan holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from UMass Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Northeastern University.
