Tal Avivi has a diverse range of work experience. Tal started their career as a Medic and Medic Instructor in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) from 1997 to 1999. Tal later worked as a Research Intern at The Memory and Memorials Program, International Center for Transitional Justice in 2008, where they developed and managed the Memory, Memorial and Museums Database. Tal also conducted extensive research on memorials and museums worldwide.
Starting from 2007, Tal worked as a Research Assistant in the field of Urban Capital and Labor, Urban Development, and the Informal Economy. During this role, they assisted Professor Michael Cohen with research presentations, data analysis, and research editing.
In 2009, Tal became a Coordinator at The Graduate Program of International Affairs' High School. Their responsibilities included collaborating with partner organizations, managing the mentor program, coordinating mentoring activities, and creating and managing the program's web page.
From 2010 to 2013, Tal gained experience as an Editor and Hebrew-English Translator through freelance work. Tal provided editing and translation services during this time.
In 2012, Tal co-founded WOOPS!, a business focused on design and brand. Tal served as the Founder & VP Design and Brand, overseeing all design, branding, and creative processes. Tal also supervised the creative team and contributed to content creation, product development, and retail store design. Tal continued their role as Founder & VP Design and Brand until at least 2015 when these records for their work experience end.

Tal Avivi completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Far East Studies with a specialization in 20th Century Chinese Studies from Tel Aviv University from 2001 to 2005. In 2004, they also participated in the Special Humanities Program at Venice International University. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Affairs from The New School between 2007 and 2009.
