Kate Porter

Kate Porter is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as General Counsel for Bay FC and an Arbitrator for the European Handball Court of Arbitration. With significant involvement in the sports sector, Kate is a member of the Investigatory Body of the Aquatics Integrity Unit at World Aquatics and holds a position on the Editorial Board of LawInSport's North America Division. Previously, as a partner and head of the Sports Law Practice at Vela Wood, Kate specialized in disputes and internal investigations for sports organizations, including representing high-profile clients in arbitration and litigation at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Kate's academic credentials include a J.D. from Villanova University, an LL.M. in International Sports Law, and a B.A. in Communication and Spanish from Wake Forest University.
