Allison Gocotano has extensive experience in health emergency management and coordination, currently serving as Team Leader at the World Health Organization's Health Emergencies division since December 2013. In this role, Gocotano provides national health cluster coordination and technical assistance for humanitarian health issues in Myanmar, previously coordinating efforts at the sub-national level in Rakhine State and focusing on recovery and contingency plans. Gocotano also contributed to health emergency recovery efforts in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan. Prior professional experience includes positions at the Health Futures Foundation, Inc., and the Department of Health in the Philippines. Gocotano holds a Master’s degree in International Public Health/Health Management from UNSW and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines, along with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the same institution.
